Turkish club Adanaspor have released a new statement, thanking those who helped Cardiff City legend Sol Bamba before he passed away. The football world went into shock late on Saturday evening when news broke of Bamba's untimely death aged 39. The central defender, who was managing in Turkey, fell ill on Friday evening and sadly died the next day.

Cardiff captain Joe Ralls has urged team-mates to give "absolutely everything" against Leeds United as a tribute to their former skipper Sol Bamba.

Sol Bamba, who has died at 39, was a former Leeds United, Cardiff City and Hibernian defender who overcame non-Hodgkin lymphoma in 2021 but succumbed to the cancer in Turkey, where he had been coaching the local first division team Adanaspor.
