With 26 seconds left, moments after the Spartans took the lead with a long touchdown pass, the Cougars covered 40 yards in just three plays to tie the game.

One mistake that could've easily cost Washington State the game occurred shortly after the Cougars intercepted a pass from San Jose State quarterback Emmett Brown on the second play of overtime.
