The 6-5, 235-pound Denegal was a standout quarterback Apple Valley High School who threw for more than 4,600 yards and 69 touchdowns before moving on to Michigan. He has been buried on the depth chart with the Wolverines, playing briefly in seven games during the 2022-23 season. He did not play this year.

Wisconsin has landed a big-time quarterback out of NCAA Transfer Portal. Former San Diego State QB Danny O’Neil has signed to play with the Badgers, according to On3’s Pete Nakos. O’Neil is going to Wisconsin after spending one season at San Diego State.

Danny O'Neil, who started at San Diego State last season as a true freshman, will join the Wisconsin Badgers, arriving through the transfer portal.
