Kolkata/IBNS: West Bengal junior doctors, who were on ceasework since August 9 when the rape and murder of a trainee doctor was discovered at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, resumed services partially on Saturday.

KOLKATA: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday questioned Dr Birupaksha Biswas and Dr Abhik De, who are closely associated with Dr Sandip Ghosh, the former football principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.

As per CBI, Dr Birupaksha Biswas was seen at the hospital on August 9 – the day of the crime – despite no official engagement there.

The CBI has approached the court for permission to conduct narco analysis on former principal Sandip Ghosh and a polygraph test on ex-Tala PS OC Abhij

Junior doctors in West Bengal have partially returned to work after a 42-day protest following the rape and murder of a female doctor. They are attending to essential and emergency services but avoiding outpatient departments.

Kolkata: The protesting junior doctors on Saturday had resumed emergency services at various government hospitals and also at flood affected areas. A team of 30 junior doctors from two different medical colleges visited the flooded areas and not just treatment they were also seen distributing dry foods to the affected people of the area.

Junior doctors rejoined their duties partially on Saturday morning at various government-run hospitals in West Bengal after a hiatus of 42 days.

This came after junior doctors, on Thursday late evening, announced a partial withdrawal of their strike, which began on August 9.
