The PMML had written to Sonia Gandhi in September, requesting her to return the documents back to the institution.

The letter has been written to Rahul Gandhi by Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya member Rizwan Kadri. Earlier, similar request was made to Sonia Gandhi in September.

In his letter to the Gandhi family member, Kadri stated that Nehru’s private papers were entrusted to the PMML by his daughter Indira Gandhi.

These papers, which include letters from former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru to notable figures like Edwina Mountbatten, Albert Einstein, Aruna Asaf Ali, and Jayaprakash Narayan, were allegedly taken by a representative of Sonia Gandhi,

The letters were entrusted to the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library (now PMML) by the Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial in 1971.

A PMML Society member urged Rahul Gandhi to recover crucial historical documents. The documents were reportedly removed from the museum under Sonia Gandhi's instruction. These include letters between Nehru and Edwina Mountbatten.

The documents include Nehru's correspondence with Edwina Mountbatten, Albert Einstein, Aruna Asaf Ali, Jayaprakash Narayan, Vijaya Laxmi Pandit, Babu Jagjivan Ram and Govind Ballabh Pant, said Ahmedabad-based historian Rizwan Kadri in his letter to Rahul Gandhi.
