Since 2008, every year on a selected Saturday communities across the United States celebrate National Wreaths Across America Day to honor veterans.

21,000 veterans are being honored at the Jacksonville National Cemetery on Saturday for National Wreaths Across America Day. Across the nation, wreaths are placed on the graves of veterans to honor them during the holiday season. According to the organization, 4,200 locations participated across America this year.

Volunteers will place 300 wreaths on veterans' graves in Jacksonville cemeteries, marking the largest year for the tradition.

“We are honored to host Wreaths Across America Day 2024. This day provides visitors an opportunity to reflect on the importance of service and learn the stories of the men and women who fought for our country,” said Executive Director of the Office of Army Cemeteries and Army National Military Cemeteries Karen Durham-Aguilera.
