Republicans file suit over special election in Minnesota House
Governor Tim Walz issued a writ of special election in late December, citing a state statute that declares a special election ought to be declared as soon as possible to fill a vacancy. The election will aim to fill a vacancy in House District 40B, which was left vacant after incumbent Curtis Johnson (DFL) resigned over a residency issue.
