Authorities continued to battle the Palisades and Eaton fires throughout Los Angeles County as lower wind speeds are expected to provide some respite Thursday morning before picking up again in the afternoon,

A new California wildfire has erupted near Runyon Canyon Park in the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles. This comes as much of Southern California enters its third day of a critical fire weather threat. FOX Weather's Robert Ray describes the current situation in Pacific Palisades as multiple wildfires continue to burn.

Nearly 2,000 homes, businesses, and other structures have been destroyed in the Eaton and Palisades fires, and the number is expected to increase. The five deaths recorded so far were from the Eaton Fire.
