As of 8:30 p.m. local time, the blaze, dubbed the Sunset Fire, consumed at least 50 acres and remains 0% contained, according to Cal Fire. Mandatory evacuations were issued for Laurel Canyon Boulevard on the west to Mulholland Drive on the north to 101 Freeway on the east down to Hollywood Boulevard on the south.

Tens of thousands were evacuated as nearly 16,000 acres burned in the uncontrolled Palisades Fire in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood in Los Angeles.

At least six blazes are now burning across Los Angeles, torching thousands of structures and forcing the evacuation of more than 100,000 people.
