After being on a “short leash” with the Chicago White Sox last season, Garrett Crochet is hoping to push the envelope with the Boston Red Sox this year.

The Red Sox intend to make extending Garrett Crochet a priority this winter. On Wednesday, though, he offered a stark reminder that such a deal is no slam dunk.
