A sheriff’s deputy was killed at a traffic stop after the driver grabbed a rifle from the cab of his pickup and opened fire, according to investigators in Southwest Florida. Elio Diaz pulled over a white pickup truck for a traffic stop shortly after 3 p.m. at a Chevron gas station when the suspect pulled out a rifle and shot the deputy. The deputy was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died.
