VERMILLION, S.D. (AP) — Aidan Bouman threw for three touchdowns, Travis Theis ran for two and the defense forced six turnovers as fourth-seeded South Dakota defeated fifth-seeded UC Davis 35-21 on Saturday in the quarterfinals of the FCS playoffs.

With a team from Texas on the way, the Jackrabbits took advantage of the elements to prepare for Saturday’s quarterfinal and it paid off. South Dakota State football coach Jimmy Rogers said the team practiced outside on Monday night when temperatures reached the negatives.
