The summer of 2024 was marked by the triumphant return of EA Sports College Football 25 to the video game landscape after a decade away. The incredibly popular video game was off shelves for a decade due to issues that arose over amateurism of the college athletes in the game.

A new company's push to represent the elite athletes of college football may force EA's next game, EA College Football 26, to significantly increase its payouts.

Alabama receiver Ryan Williams and other Crimson Tide players are among college football players who have signed group licensing agreements for their name, image and likeness to be used in video games. Yahoo Sports broke the news in what the outlet suggests “is expected to be the single largest commercial deal in the industry’s history.”

The long-awaited return of this video game marked a unique movement for name, image and likeness compensation going forward.
