Rishabh Pant who scored his sixth Test century along with Shubman Gill stitched a solid 167-run partnership for the fourth wicket. After resuming the day at 81 for three, India declared their second innings at 287 for four, setting Bangladesh a massive lead of 514 runs.

India set Bangladesh a mammoth victory target of 515 and then reduced them to 158-4 to close in on a comprehensive victory on day three of the opening Test between the neighbouring countries on Saturday.

India closed in on sealing a massive win over Bangladesh in the first Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Saturday (September 21). But, all eyes will be on the weather on Sunday (September 22) as India aims to take a 1-0 lead in the 2-Test series.
