BBC Studios has confirmed its exit from India's TV production market, and instead signed a deal with Banijay Asia.

The deal gives Banijay Asia exclusive rights to BBC Studios’ unscripted and scripted format catalog in India. The agreement takes effect after BBC Studios completes its current production commitments in the region.

Last month, there was chatter in the industry that BBC Studios, the production arm of the British broadcaster, was reviewing its operations in India. Now, mid-day has learnt that the studio has decided to make an exit from the country.
