The United States and Britain declined to sign a final communique at the Artificial Intelligence Action Summit in Paris on Tuesday evening, opposite of some 70 governmental and organizational leaders who did sign on.

The United States and Britain have not signed the Paris AI Summit's declaration entitled 'Statement on Inclusive and Sustainable Artificial Intelligence'.

It follows a warning from US Vice President JD Vance that excessive regulation could "kill a transformative industry."

The two countries held back from signing the communique agreed by about 60 countries at the AI Action summit in Paris on Tuesday as Vance vowed that the US would remain the dominant force in the technology.

The UK is said to have followed the US in not signing a declaration from leaders on agreed practices around AI development.

World leaders are negotiating the text of a joint declaration at the Paris AI Summit. However, the U.S. has reportedly pushed back against language that
