Amanda Seyfried is clearing the air. The Mamma Mia! star, 39, spoke to PEOPLE exclusively at the Make It Cute x Babylist Holiday Event on Tuesday, Dec. 10 in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The Mamma Mia star spoke to People at the Make It Cute x Babylist Holiday Event in Beverly Hills this week about a January 2023 Instagram video that stylist Elizabeth Stewart posted of her singing “Popular” while wearing a fluffy white gown.

While Seyfried admitted the posting may have led to misunderstandings, she emphasized that the moment was lighthearted. Interestingly, she later auditioned for Glinda in earnest, though the role eventually went to Ariana Grande.
