Pat was a great guide telling us about the history of the cliffs and answering all questions we had a long the way. There was also a whale that was washed up which doesn’t normally happen.Full review by courtney m

Is the walk from the tower down to Doolin an easier walk? What should we expect weather wise if visiting at the 1st of Oct.

I would agree with Albertc, it is private land which was the selling point to the cliffs of Mohr walk. Take the walk on the cliffs it was a highlight of our trip. As far as weather goes, wait 5 minutes and it changes. We went in june, I have no idea of weather in oct.

We did the walk with a group of about 20. Some walkers just strolled and others were in for a good walk! We didn’t do it on our own, but with Pat Sweeney who takes the walk from Doolin opposite the tourist information centre. Pat takes you past his farm and his grandfathers farm, telling of his time as a boy playing and exploring from the Cliffs. Approximately 3-4 hours to get to the visitor centre. A couple had to leave the group at the visitor centre to move on to other destinations, but if you stay with Pat, he gives you time to visit the centre and then a small bus takes you back to Doolin. We are in our late 60’s and found it quite an easy walk. Pity that the day was fogged in and so our photos weren’t great, however it is exactly what we saw on our walk. Wear practical walking shoes. You will not be sorry if you do this walk with Pat Sweeney. You can email him expressing the date you would prefer. He does this walk every day! For €10 per person, this is fantastic!!! The group was a mix of nationalities but mostly Americans. We are Aussies! Go for it!!
