We will be passing through Bregenz in late September. We might make a short stop midday but would this years stage still be up then if the festival ends in August? Do we need tickets post-festival to see the stage if not attending a performance? Thanks.

The stage should still be set up but I don't know if you will be able to see it from the stands. Walking along the water you can catch glimpses and you take a boat ride as well. The only way to see the whole stage though is from the front, as often there are figures emerging from the water at the very front.
Planning to go to Bregenz to see the opera stage in Feb 2019. I would appreciate any suggestions to my queries, please. 1. Will the stage with cards for Carmen still be there? I see somewhere stage theme is changed every 2 years. 2. Is a day trip enough for both Lindau & Bregenz? I am traveling from Sulz am Neckar. 3. Is the visit worth the trip as it is not the Bregenz festival? Do you think I should visit other German states like Black Forest, Regensburg and Nuremberg? 4. For a clearer picture, my 12 days schedule in Germany include Frankfurt, Cochem, Cologne, Berlin, Munich, Fussen, Stuttgart on the list. Lindau/Bregenz trip is still considering. Would be grateful if anyone can help to suggest whether I should add or delete any place. This is my very first trip to Germany. Thank you.
Hi we are 3 adults booked our Bregenz Carmen on the 20th July, our flight arrives on Zurich 18/7 return on 22/7. Can anyone suggest another pretty old town to stay for 4 nights? we haven't decided should we hire a car or travel by train. Appreciate your suggestion.

Hi I definitely recommend Konstanz. It is a beautiful medieval town. And you can go on by boat to Carmen ;-)
